Producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Francis Neve releases his new single ‘Dance Around The Fire’ on December 5 2011 through his own label FRR Records. It follows the BBC 6 Music-endorsed ‘I Won’t Make You Better’ on July 4, the third and final single taken from his acclaimed debut album, ‘The Second Time We First Met.’
The track was borne out of what Neve terms ‘the most unusual summer we’ve had in London.’ He continues: ‘The sentiment is a really positive one … The song is trying to focus on the good things in life and how we treat each other rather than the bad that we always hear about in the news. Its hopeful.’
The B-side showcases the icy electronics of the vocoder-driven ‘I Lie,’ whilst the package is completed by two excellent remixes of previous single ‘Brian’s Drying Up,’ the first a house re-rub by hotly-tipped Bangatang, and the second a 2-step tech-house reworking by DJ Ruckspin.
Dance Around The Fire gives you a taste of what to expect from the future album. The song itself is a cracker I simply love the fact it is both pacey and very upbeat. As for B Side I Lie all I can say is WOW. It is so different compared to anything Neve has sung making this one incredible song. The last 2 tracks that feature on this EP are two remixes of previous single Brian’s Drying Up. I’m not usually one for remixes but these 2 are rather impressive.
Dance Around The Fire is released on FFR Records 5th December 2011
