Brightlight City are a talented 5 piece band. The genre of the music is pop/ indie with a tiny bit of rock added into the mix. Just hearing the music they remind me of The Wombats.
Well Justin was kind enough to spare some time for a 10 question interview:
Q 01. What was your first musical instrument and where did you get it?
The recorder from a crazy music teacher at Primary School
Q 02. What was your favourite gig you have headlined or supported at?
We love playing live and had a great time playing a showcase at the 222 @ Great Portland Street for Fierce Panda…. the headliners were Cheeky Cheeky and the nosebleeds….
Q 03. If you were to collaborate with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?
Would love to collaborate with John Lennon, Jeff Buckley and Kurt Cobain… maybe Bill Hicks could write the lyrics!!! That would be awesome
Q 04. Favourite song to sing live and why?
Really love playing our new song called ‘Pressure’ it has energy and passion… just great to play live…
Q 05. Favourite music venue and why?
The Barfly in Camden or Water Rats Kings Cross
Q 06. Where do you get your inspiration from when writing songs?
Loads of music – Radiohead, Beatles, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Pearl Jam… to name a few………. Also we get loads of inspiration from things we see in our everyday lives…. and especially our friends!!

Q 08. What tips do you offer to any one wanting to become a singer or start a band?
Keep believing in what you do and put your heart and soul into your music
Q 09. Who is your favourite singer or band at the moment?
Kings of Leon, Radiohead, Mumford and Sons.
Q 10. Goals for the year?
To write songs and release them to as many people as possible
To play as many gigs as possible!!
